I haven't posted here in a while, and we're in the middle of July, so I think it is time for an update. The previous weekend, I was at the Taste of Chicago, where I had some of the best tater tots I've ever eaten, and I even tried a giant turkey leg (the ones you usually eat at Renn Faires). It felt good being at the food fest after not attending for a few years thanks to the violence in Chicago. This year, it was refreshing.
The next day, I attended Anime Midwest as Mirai Trunks. I waited in a long line to get my badge, but the line was moving at a decent speed. Being in that line took me back to the
first Acen I attended back in 2005. The con was fun. I met Chuck Huber, who voiced Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho and Android 17 (Lapis) from Dragonball Z. I bought a few things from the dealer's room. It wasn't the size of the one you would see at Ace or Otakon, though, but it was okay. I did buy some Chinese marshmallow candy. I ran into some old friends, and an old classmate from high school, who was there with his girlfriend. I saw more people cosplaying from Fire Emblem Fates, and that made me happy. I saw someone dressed as Queen Mikoto, Kana, Shigure, Rhajat, and many others. I even saw some retro cosplays from Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist (Lust and Sloth), and even some from Bleach. Some of the girls there were so hot. It was a small con that was laid back, and that was good in my opinion. Next time I go, I want to get a hotel room.
Pokemon Go has just come out, and I'm even joining in on the craze. Though in my area, I'm not catching much. However, next week after I take care of some private business, I will be catching more. I started of with a Charmander, and I haven't managed to evolve any of my Pokemon yet. I probably need to expand my horizons, which could mean a trip to Mitsuwa.
I do have a convention coming up in September, and I will be working on my secret costume for the duration of whatever is left of this month, and all the way into August. This one is the reason why Kaguya is put on hold until Fall.
Until next time!
Oh, and I know I asked this before, but for those who subscribe to my Youtube channel, do you think I should take a more direct approach when I show my cosplays? I keep thinking with my cosplay building videos, I'm playing it too safe, and that's not getting me the views I want.
